Hi, we are Mike and Hillary

and we want to introduce our farm to you!

Two years ago, we purchased a 6-acre farm in unincorporated King County, Washington. We’re nestled in the “hidden valley” of Kent, alongside Soos Creek, tucked in between the borders of Kent, Covington, and Maple Valley. The property has great bones but had been neglected for the last 15 years or so. We are working to remove invasive plants, update infrastructure, and revitalize the property into our dream – Ludin Farm.

We broke ground in Spring 2022 to begin our Flower Farm. All flowers on the farm are sown, grown, and arranged by Hillary. She has carefully curated hundreds of heirloom and specialty varieties of cut flowers for you to enjoy throughout the growing season.

Along with renovations and farm upgrades, Mike has been busy formulating our livestock plan. His 2021/2022 Pork Share was very successful, and he is looking forward to raising pork and sheep in the near future. We believe in the importance of locally raised and ethically sourced meat and are excited to share that with our community.

land acknowledgment

We recognize that the land we live and farm on was stolen from the Duwamish people by white settlers. This land acknowledgement certainly does not rectify the physical, emotional, and cultural loss experienced by the original inhabitants of this land. If you have not already, we encourage you to learn about the history of the land you live and work on.

A portion of each quarter’s profits will go to Real Rent Duwamish. All funds go directly to the Duwamish Tribe, providing social, educational, health, and cultural services.

collectives

Ludin Farm believes in the importance of community. Rather than viewing fellow flower farmers as potential competition, we strive to embrace the opportunity to network, support local businesses, and build friendships.

We are honored to be part of this flower collective which fosters community among farmers with a focus on making local flowers more accessible to both floral professionals and the general public.

Hillary is an alum of the Floret Class of 2022. We are thrilled to be a part of Floret’s Farmer-Florist Collective, which is committed to supporting and promoting the seasonal flower movement so that it continues to grow and thrive.
